CHARACTER
Name: Aura Blackquill
Canon: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies
Age: 37
Timeline: Post-Dual Destinies
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality:
In Simon’s words, one might call Aura a tsundere.

For being 37 when you first meet her, Aura is quite the eccentric woman. She’s the image of a tough, independent scientist who’s allergic to bullshit, and is capable of taking matters to her own hands if she must. It’s hinted that Aura, despite being a typical teasing older sister, was a bit gentler and also happy before the death of her co-worker and very close mentor Metis Cykes. It’s implied she spent most of the time with her colleague and thus after her death she went into a state of shock, involving a lot of crying and a sharp turn personality-wise – especially as the one framed for Metis’ murder was her younger brother, who she knew was innocent.

She’s not a person that’s easy to get close to, but she proves herself to be devoted once she does. Previously her two closest people seem to be Simon and Metis, and with Metis’ death, only Simon’s left. Because of these events Aura’s definitely a lot more bitter, prone to lash out her emotions at everyone else, especially her robots. The following trauma of losing two people close to her (technically – Simon was jailed and sentenced to death, though he got away with it) made her build walls around her that brings her to her current cynical behaviour. She doesn’t seem to trust people, and if you’re working with law you’re going to have a hard time with her because she’s got some serious bad taste in the mouth with it, though it eases up at towards the end of the game.

Aura seemingly prefers robots to human beings, as robots doesn’t hurt nor feel anything. She’s especially abusive with them, however, since she can easily fix them up if she hurts them too bad, and besides, their “hearts” aren’t actually in their bodies. While being rough with her actions, she doesn’t do things that are out of her control. It’s not like she acts the same way with human beings, even though she probably would enjoy slapping around people and shooting them with laser guns.

As an older sister however, she genuinely does care - especially for Simon although her ways of showing it can be… special. For all the years of the dark age of law, Aura fought to have a new trial for Simon, convinced that he was innocent, that he couldn’t have killed Metis. She did believe, however, in her rage of sisterly overprotection, that Athena was at fault for the murder. This proves that she will go lengths to protect whoever she cares for. Even if she needs to hold an entire space center hostage to get things done her way. Even if she has to go to jail to get them out. She cares! Aura’s just really creative with proving it. Deep down she’s a huge softie, really.

Background: Aura @ Ace Attorney wikia

Abilities: Aura’s an educated robotics engineer, able to fix and build and demolish robots as she wishes. She’s also an older sister, meaning she’s fully able to bully her younger brother when she wishes, even though he has a sharp sword. What a loser.

First Person:
[ For one, Aura is pretty good at maneuvering technologic objects. She’s an engineer. A robotics engineer. This is what she does. But this, this watch -- for someone who comes from far past this city’s time, she does take a moment to figure out how it works because it looks so old. Like from some stupid steampunk movie. It seems simple enough, but she’s almost puzzled over how simple it is, really.

She puts on video, because why the hell not. ]

So, whisked away to a town way before my time, huh? I don’t recognize this place. I don’t remember it snowing, either. I guess it’s way better than jailtime.

This thing is connected to a network, right?

[ She shrugs. ]

Aura Blackquill. If someone could tell me what’s going on, that’d be a ton more helpful than this huge poster here.

[ To be honest, she’s just really lazy. She probably could figure it out on her own, but... If it was information on robots, technology, something that interested her, sure.

Although it is cold, so she is going to find some shelter, because that is definitely within her interests. ]

Third Person: Being whisked away to a town before time wasn’t actually anything Aura expected to happen. Especially since the last thing she remembered was staring through the window behind bars. Aura felt unexpectedly calm, however, as she stared out the train’s windows, watching the landscape. It was definitely different, and she immediately knew that she had to be far away. However, it wasn’t really unnerving. She didn’t have anything better to do at home anyway, at least not anymore. (Though, she hoped Simon would do okay. She could admit she would miss him if they got separated for too long, though… not to his face. He’d probably do fine, though.)

Stepping out of the train was… cold. Her labcoat was definitely not designed for winter, though she was thankful for at least having gloves, and only now she realized there was a watch in her pocket. It didn’t take long until she realized it wasn’t just a watch, but it did take a small moment to realize what its other functions was. It was as if it was pulled out from some shitty steampunk series, and she felt herself make a face at it. She would have to tinker with this, where she to find somewhere she could do that.

This place reminded her of pictures from Europe, with its old buildings and design. For a small moment, if felt as she herself had been dragged back in time, and she groped for her laser gun, a groan when she remembered the bailiff had taken that, she was arrested for a crime, after all. Og well, were something to come up she could probably kick their asses anyway. She didn’t have anything to lose, after all. Picking up the watch she left a quick message, closing it to find a place to warm up. It was cold. Aura was quick to decide she hated snow.
